BATs Rugby – Rugby for all in the north Edinburgh Community

BATs transforming lives in North
Edinburgh through rugby

Welcome to Edinburgh BATs Rugby. We are more than just a club – we are dedicated to transforming lives, improving wellbeing, and uniting North Edinburgh and beyond through sport.

From grassroots rugby to vital community outreach, we deliver high quality coaching, fitness, and life-skills training for all ages and backgrounds.

There is a place for everyone in the BATs family.

Our Community: Building Futures

BATs Rugby is the official rugby development partner for Broughton High School, Trinity Academy, and eight local primary schools across North Edinburgh.

In partnership with Scottish Rugby’s Schools of Rugby initiative, we provide a seamless, inclusive journey for young players:

Core Base: Fun, safe introduction to rugby.

Development Level: Structured school competitions and smooth high school transitions.

Club Level: Clear pathways to regional elite programs and adult rugby.

Come and play with BATs Rugby

Everyone is welcome. Whether your child is picking up a ball for the first time or looking to take their game to the next level, we provide a fun, safe, and supportive environment to learn and succeed.

More than a game: Our trained, professional coaches, use rugby to teach vital life skills – like teamwork, resilience, and confidence – to help young people thrive both on and off the pitch.

We focus on the player, not the score whether its school rugby or advance pathways.
